How To Choose an Air Filter

Wondering which air filter is right for you? Our easy to use air filter comparison chart will help you figure out the best filter for your home. The higher the MERV rating of the air filter you select, the more dust, allergens, and irritants will be filtered out of your air. If you have pets or family members with asthma or allergies, you should select a higher quality filter. Additionally, if you live in a dusty or highly polluted area, you will want a filter that most effectively cleans your home’s air. Indoor air pollution can be greatly reduced by selecting a higher quality air filter, which will effectively filter up to 95% of common pollution sources in the air your family breathes.

Our Pleated Fibers vs. Flat Fiberglass

CleanerFilters.com proudly carries pleated filters. Unlike pleated filters, many air filters are fiberglass filters. Fiberglass filters are flat and allow dust to get through the filter fibers more easily. As a result, they have MERV ratings of 1-4 and have been shown to remove only 5% of airborne particulates. While fiberglass filters are cheaper, they don't capture airborne allergens and irritants. Pleated filters, however, have MERV ratings of 8-13+ and remove up to 95% of airborne particulates from your air. We want your family to breathe easier and enjoy the cleanest air possible. That's why we only carry pleated filters!
